As part of Cal State LA’s plan to address the $32.4 million campus budget deficit, the University Library is planning for a 12.4 percent reduction to our general fund allocation for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Providing access to scholarly resources is one of the library's’ core services. However, with the recent budget reduction, coupled with the rising cost of scholarly content and a relatively flat library budget for the last several fiscal years, it has been necessary to make reductions in all of our core services including our acquisitions, licensing and subscription budget. As a result, our collections budget will be reduced by $270K. An overview/update on the library’s collection budget will be provided and there will be an opportunity for the campus community to ask questions and provide input.
